Join a movement to make lasting change.
You may be seeing some information on our social media and in emails about becoming a member and wondering what that’s all about. Back in 2020, the FCAC Council started having conversations around what it means to be an FCAC member. The goals were primarily to create a deeper sense of community and ownership over our collective work and to create a more formal structure for providing resources to support community members to take action for climate justice.
What does it mean to be an FCAC Member? There is no cost to become a member. Members sign up to be part of our movement, align themselves with our principles and values and can be active in working groups, support events, belong to partner organizations or offer support to the movement in other ways. Members have decision making power within working groups as well as through formally conducted organizational votes.
We’ve spent the last few months honing our member resources and finding ways to make them more accessible. We just launched our Member Resources Webpage, which provides members access to:
Material support for campaigns or hosting events
Staff support for events or other campaigns that align with our mission
Technological support
Communications support
Financial Resources
Training for organizing, decolonization, etc.
FCAC’s Climate Justice Library
Support for outreach efforts
This work is heavy and hard, but it’s also joyful and transformative and rich. When we as a movement step into our power through collective action, there is no limit to what we can accomplish. Step into your power, become an FCAC Member!
